As part of its continuous efforts to promote innovation and enhance technological education in Iraq, Al-Maharat for Education and Culture organized its 3rd Annual Conference and Exhibition on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, held under the theme:

“Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Towards a More Sustainable Future.”

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the supervision of the Northern Technical University, and with the generous sponsorship of Al-Kitab University and Al-Qalam University.


🎯 Conference Objectives:


The conference aimed to highlight the latest trends in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, emphasizing the role of innovation in supporting sustainable development, while empowering young talents and encouraging them to pursue careers in technological entrepreneurship.

💡 Exhibition Highlights:


The exhibition featured a variety of technical and educational booths presented by universities, academic institutions, and startup companies showcasing innovative projects in programming, robotics, and AI systems.

The event also included interactive demonstrations and outstanding student projects that embodied the ambition of Iraqi youth for a digital and innovative future.


🏆 Technological Innovations Competition:


Alongside the conference, a special section was dedicated to technological innovations, with participation from most Iraqi universities. The showcased projects reflected remarkable creativity and progress among students and researchers.

At the closing ceremony, the top three innovations in Iraq were selected and honored with financial awards as follows:


First Place: Northern Technical University – Mosul – College of Artificial Intelligence


Second Place: University of Information Technology and Communications – Baghdad


Third Place: University of Mosul – College of Medicine

The conference gathered a distinguished group of academics, experts, entrepreneurs, and representatives from Iraqi universities and both public and private sector institutions. It served as an exceptional platform for exchanging experiences, building partnerships, and strengthening cooperation in technology and innovation.

“Educational Future Gateway” Exhibition in Collaboration with the Ministry of Education

On August 28th, the Skills for Education and Culture Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, organized a three-day scientific exhibition titled: “Educational Future Gateway Exhibition.” The exhibition featured a series of interactive sessions and discussions aimed at building and empowering students’ capacities, while also highlighting the main challenges and issues they face in their educational and daily lives. The exhibition covered the following topics:

1. The role of organizations in improving the quality of education.

2. Artificial Intelligence in education.

3. The role of journalism in the digital age.

4. Providing a space for communication between educational institutions and students.

5. Cybersecurity and online extortion.

6. Promoting entrepreneurship among students.

7- Climate Change and Its Impact on Society.


  At the conclusion of the exhibition, outstanding students from various schools were honored with the Creativity and Excellence Award, which was presented to 41 schools in recognition of their efforts and achievements. This exhibition aligns with the foundation’s vision to foster innovation, enhance the educational process, and open new horizons for students toward a brighter future.

Technical Creativit

Our foundation, in cooperation with the IEEE organization, organized a scientific symposium on ((Technical Creativity)) for a group of students and young people, in which we discussed the latest technology and what the labor market requirements are to be qualified to work in companies. The participants were also presented with a group of technological projects on robots and intelligence. Artificial intelligence and data science At the end, certificates of participation were awarded to the participants in the symposium.

100 PROGRAMMERS TRAINING

Our foundation, in cooperation with Korek Communications Company, organized a training program to train 100 programmers for the labor market. The training included training on programming, networks, communications, fiber optics, and entrepreneurship. It also included scientific visits to companies to simulate practical reality

Kirkuk Technology and Innovation Festival


Our Foundation annually organizes a technology festival called (KTI) Kirkuk Technology & Innovation Festival in cooperation with several telecommunications companies such as: (Korek and Asiacell) and with several international organizations such IOM . KTI is an annual event organized in October of each year. It aims to review and promote the latest developments and innovations in the field of technology. This festival brings together entrepreneurs, innovators, developers, and major and emerging technology companies, to exchange ideas and experiences and showcase new projects. The festival provides a stimulating environment for creativity and innovation, as workshops, seminars, presentations, and competitions are held that encourage creative thinking and problem solving in innovative ways. The festival usually lasts for two days, from ten in the morning until five in the evening, and it is a general invitation to everyone and takes the form of themes.
The first axis is called Speakers Day, where an invitation card is sent to experts in this field to be speakers on the day of the festival to talk to the public about the latest technology and what job opportunities are for young people.
The second axis: It is a scientific innovation competition for students from various universities, in addition to some recreational activities.

Training Program on Human Security Survey

On August 20, 2024, Mr. Aryan Adel Abdullah, the Head of the AL-Maharat Foundation for Education and Culture, participated in a training program on Human Security Survey. The program was organized by the Iraqi Al-Amal Association in cooperation with the organization Pax and lasted for five days.

Trainer Preparation Course

Mr. Aryan Adel Abdullah, President of the Organization of Skills for Education and Culture, participated in a training course within the National Youth Training Camp (Trainer Preparation Course), which was sponsored by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, and the Supreme Youth Council. The camp took place from September 24-29, 2024, and aimed to enhance the capabilities of young people and develop their skills in various fields.


During the camp, a variety of workshops and lectures were offered, focusing on developing participants' leadership, creative, and technological skills.


This camp is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the role of youth in building a better future, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support to empower this vital segment of society. The camp is expected to yield positive outcomes, contributing to the development of participants' skills and fostering a spirit of cooperation among them.

Training Course On Career Guidance And the Green Economy Organized by The (ILO).


Mr. Aryan Adel Abdullah, President of the Organization of #AL_MAHARAT for Education and Culture, participated in a specialized training course on career guidance and the green economy organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO). The course focused on the latest strategies and practices to promote sustainable employment opportunities and develop professional skills in line with the principles of the green economy, aiming to support economic and social development and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
